System issues related to Limit Network Access controls

In Sierra 6.3, some libraries have encountered an issue related to services that are controlled by Limit Network Access. Because so many programs use Limit Network Access, the symptoms of this issue vary widely and don't have one clear indicator.

Innovative is contacting libraries on Sierra 6.3 about installing the hotfix as a preventative measure.

Passwords for logins with Sierra SQL Access

In the Admin App, if a user with "Sierra SQL Access" assigned under "Applications" has special characters in their Sierra password, an exception error occurs prompting to restart the Admin App session. After restarting the Admin App, a different message displays, that the user must change their password. After changing the password, the password-change message continues to display.

Sierra API: POST /v6/patrons/checkout returns 107 response if patron barcode spacing differs

If the Sierra patron record's barcode field contains spaces, and the data for POST /v6/patrons/checkout does not contain spaces, the item is checked out successfully but misleadingly returns a 107 "Record not found" error.

SIP2: Invalid PIN in 63 message results in two AF fields in 64 response

If a 63 Patron Information Request message contains an invalid PIN, Sierra returns a 64 message with two AF screen message fields. The first AF contains the correct invalid pin message, and the second is a blocked patron message.

Spine labels using Print Templates do not print the period preceding the cutter number, even when Spine Label Circulation Options "Print the period preceding the Cutter number" and "Format for call numbers" are configured to do so.

In Sierra Catalog function, verifying headings with Ctrl-G in a bibliographic record, when using the extended information option, removes the comma before the 700 field subfield |e and adds a space.

No record written to Bursar Output when a billed item is renewed

When a billed item is renewed, no entry is written to Bursar Output.  This issue was reported by a library configured to cancel bills on check-in and reproduced with that configuration, but the issue might not be limited to that configuration.

Create Lists exports zero for INV TOTALS field

Some libraries report that when they export the INV TOTALS (t) field from Create Lists, the data always exports as zero.

Libraries may notice this more in Sierra 6.1 and later versions because the configuration that produces this behavior is also required in order to export the Last Status Update field. Exporting Last Status Update is new in Sierra 6.1.

Exporting in Create Lists truncates very long variable fields

When exporting variable fields in Create Lists, very long fields are truncated to 2,049 characters. MARC 520 fields are an example of fields that may be especially long.

ILL records display "Add to Review File" button

The new "Add to Review File" button displays in ILL modes. ILL records cannot be added to review files, so this button should not display where it is not functional.

Failure to renew decontributed items

If an owning library decontributes an item while it is on INN-Reach loan, patrons and staff may be unable to renew the item. When staff attempt to renew, an error displays "Failed to check central holds for this item."

Checking in in-transit NCIP items not at the pickup location

When staff check in an in-transit NCIP item with a Locations Served that does not match the NCIP hold's pickup location, Sierra does not display the item in the Check-In table and does not print a transit slip.
