Symptoms

If you have been trying to access Direct SQL Access with a username and password you know are correct and the user has the "Sierra SQL Access" application assigned but are still getting errors, it could be that your username has an uppercase letter.

Resolution

As per Sierra Direct SQL Access: Getting Started: "Direct SQL Access (assigned the Sierra SQL Access application) must not contain capital letters. Login names that include capital letters are unable to authenticate against the database."

Internal Notes

See: [DOC-634] Sierra WebHelp:Sierra (SQL user) login character restriction - Jira (iii.com)
