Entering Custom User Prompts

Requesters describe the item they want by entering data in response to prompts. A total of twelve user prompts may be specified for each type of material. Innovative offers defaults for the first eight prompts (Q1 through Q4). Defaults differ for each material type. Your organization may customize these prompts and specify three additional prompts (Q5a through Q5c). For example, your organization could specify an additional prompt "How should the library deliver this item to you?" Use Q6 to offer a "Cancel if not filled by" prompt. Enter custom prompts in the tables below.

NOTE: The requester's answers to Q3a through Q3e are written to the Where and When Published field in the ILL requests waiting to be processed file. The requester's answers to Q5a through Q5c are written to the Other Info field in the ILL requests waiting to be processed file. Q5b and Q5c are transmittable to OCLC and ARTEMail.

Modifying the Copyright Statement

By default, the system displays the following copyright statement when an item is requested. To display a different copyright statement, enter it below.

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code), governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order, if, in its judgement, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.

Specifying a Default Follow-up Period

Your organization may specify a default follow-up period for each type of material. For example, if you specify 30 days as the follow-up period, then the follow-up date for the request will be automatically set to 30 days after the date on which the request was selected for acquisition. Note that you may override this follow-up date when the request is processed.
