Sierra 6.4 is now in general release.

If your library is hosted by Innovative this form may be used to submit your update request for the latest currently available release.
For non-hosted libraries please self upgrade via the Admin App. Self-upgrade instructions are available at Sierra 6.4 SFTP Upgrade Instructions.
This software update will repair all issues reported as fixed in the current release.

TIP: The most current Maintenance Update for a release includes all previous updates for that release.

Innovative staff will let you know which of your preferred times has been scheduled and will notify you when the software update is complete.

What you need to know about the update:

  • Your library must be live on Sierra to request this maintenance update.
  • Regardless of what version of Sierra your server is running, please note there is downtime associated with the Commit Phase of the upgrade which will be approximately between 1 or 2 hours. The Sierra application (and Encore if you have it) will be inaccessible during this time. A reboot will be done on the Sierra application server at the end of the Commit Phase, please select the time of the Commit phase where your Library will be without Innovative services for 1-2 hours.
  • Sierra clients reload new jars the first time library staff access Sierra after the update is complete. The client will only need to reload new jars once.

Maintenance Update Details: 

 NOTE: Hosted libraries running versions older than 6.1 will not be able to upgrade (leapfrog) directly to Sierra 6.4.  Innovative will work with you to upgrade your server to Sierra 6.1 and Oracle Linux 8 before we upgrade your server to Sierra 6.4.  For non-hosted libraries, Oracle Linux 8 x86_64 or RHEL 8 x86_64 are required for Sierra 6.4.

NOTE: The date choice should reflect the date for which you want the Commit Phase scheduled. In the Comments Box, please specify the time in PST/PDT of when you want the Commit time to start as it will bring your Sierra server down into maintenance mode. Please expect up to 1 hour of downtime. The Prep phase, which is non-disruptive, will be completed before the Commit phase is scheduled.

 CAUTION: Updates are performed Sunday evening - Thursday US time zones (Mon-Fri for Asia Pacific time zones) excluding U.S. holidays. Also, first choice must be at least 10 business days from the date that you submit the form due to an increase of requests.
